Visit UCSB

Students are welcome to visit the UCSB Studio anytime during the year. Professor Callus teaches private lessons all year round for visiting students, sometimes in the summers and often on school breaks. Students come for one lesson or can stay for multiple lessons. Schedules have to be coordinated well in advance but there is usually alot of flexability. For information regarding auditioning at UCSB please visit the UCSB Music Department and the UCSB Viola Studio Homepage for degree requirement/audition info.

Santa Barbara is a very desirable tourist destination so prices can be high to stay here. If you are on a budget, take the time to look around for a good deal and be open to staying in Goleta – the location of UCSB just a few minutes north of Santa Barbara. Some hotels offer long stay rates so its worth asking for a better rate if you plan to stay more than a few days. There are good bus services to the campus or some hotels closer to the campus for those wishing to be right in the action!

The Santa Barbara Airport is the first choice for visiting UCSB. The Airport itself is located right next door to the campus – about 3 mins away in a taxi. LAX is located about 90 miles from Santa Barbara but with traffic it can take a while to drive to Santa Barbara – it really depends on what time of day you drive. There are other options for bus and train below.
